This Egyptian tourism site is a pretty good resource. I never did think going to Egypt was a great idea until... this fandom, really, so it certainly has coloured a lot.

A writer that I thought I might read for background would be Christian Jacq. I enjoyed some of his books on Egypt. The Book of the Dead's Egyptian mythology only went so far.
